Due to continued growth, we are looking to expand our controls team with an experienced Control Systems Engineer.
About the Role
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of custom automation solutions, working on highly specialised machinery built to tight tolerances and unique client specifications. This is a hands‑on role covering the full lifecycle—from design and programming through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement PLC control systems for bespoke machinery
- Develop and configure SCADA and HMI systems for operator control and monitoring
- Work closely with mechanical and electrical teams on custom-built, high-precision equipment
- Produce and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC panel layouts
- Carry out system testing, debugging, and on-site commissioning
- Support continuous improvement of control systems for performance and reliability
- Provide documentation and technical support for delivered systems
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms)
- Strong background in SCADA and HMI development
- Experience working with industrial machinery, ideally within high-precision or bespoke equipment environments
- Solid grounding in electrical engineering fundamentals, including:
- Electrical calculations
- Reading and producing electrical drawings
- Control panel and PLC layout design
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with motion control systems, servo drives, and robotics
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.)
- Experience with machine safety standards and compliance
