Electrical Controls Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to develop, maintain, and optimise control systems implementation, including operation & maintenance procedures, make changes to PLC programs, and ensure maximum availability of production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate software backups are available and up-to-date for all PLC programs on site, new and existing equipment.
• Modify PLC programs where required.
• Liaise with staff and group for MES integration & new projects.
• Create work instructions and train maintenance staff in basic PLC & camera fault finding.
• Support the maintenance team where required to assist with PLC fault finding to ensure maximum machine availability.
• Ensure accurate software backups are available and up-to-date for all improvements where necessary or improvements are identified.
• Liaise with Engineering Stores to combat obsolescence & ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
• Attend breakdowns and support maintenance.
• Replace obsolete / faulty equipment.
• Make program changes where required and safe to do so.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or above in Electrical Engineering / PLC programming, Electrical Maintenance (preferably degree level).
• PLC knowledge and expertise.
• Ability to write PLC programmes and provide software support.
• Knowledge of data capture systems.
• Fault finding and problem solving skills.
• Advanced IT skills.
• Network knowledge and understanding.
• Experience and knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and best practice.
• Knowledge of ALBB Robots, Rapid.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday – day shift.

Salary

£48,000 – £50,000 per annum.
