About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Senior Grid Compliance Engineer to join our UK/EU team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that our products (BESS and WTGs) are aligned with system operator’s expectations.
You will work at the interface of R&D, front line sales team, and project delivery supporting grid strategy, modelling, and technical due diligence across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment of products and facilitate in site level compliance against applicable Grid Codes and connection requirements.
- Develop and maintain grid compliance strategies for WTG and BESS projects across UK/EU and selected international markets.
- Deliver and review grid compliance studies using industry-standard tools such as PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or ETAP.
- Support project teams in interpreting connection agreements and ensuring alignment with technical and regulatory obligations.
- Monitor and interpret changes in grid regulations, policies, and ancillary service frameworks.
- Act as a technical interface between clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Support the Advisory function with technical reviews of grid-related documentation and client queries.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks in the grid connections offers of ER and work on its resolution with active stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to the continuous development of internal capability through knowledge sharing, training, and mentoring.
Stakeholder & Project Engagement
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure aligned and efficient project execution.
- Engage directly with clients to understand project requirements.
- Represent the organization in discussions with DNOs, TSOs, and regulators where required.
- Participate in industry working groups, consultations, and events.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Reporting Line
This role will report directly to the Technical Lead for the UK/EU region and work closely with cross-functional teams.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in grid compliance engineering and network modelling.
- Strong understanding of power system dynamics and grid stability.
- Knowledge of UK Grid Code and standards (G99, P28, P27, P29, G5/5).
- Experience with PSCAD, PowerFactory, or ETAP.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with grid-forming technologies.
- Familiarity with ancillary service markets.
- Exposure to international grid codes.
- Knowledge of grid charging, ancillary services, balancing markets, Capacity Market, and flexibility services.
- Experience in advisory or due diligence work.
