As part of this growth, our client is seeking an experienced RF Test Engineer to join their engineering and manufacturing organisation.
The Role – RF Test Engineer
This is a hands‑on RF Test Engineer role focused on the development, maintenance and improvement of automated RF test solutions. You will work closely with RF design, systems and production teams to support products from early development through to volume manufacture.
The RF Test Engineer will play a key role in ensuring robust, repeatable and well‑documented test solutions that meet demanding technical, quality and delivery requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and support automated RF test solutions using RF test equipment and LabVIEW / TestStand
- Improve test capability and resolve technical issues through structured analysis and fault diagnosis
- Deliver verified, documented test solutions in line with technical, schedule and cost constraints
- Manage and plan your own workload, reporting progress and risks to project stakeholders
- Perform data analysis and generate internal and customer‑facing technical reports and presentations
- Support the full test solution lifecycle, including:
- Requirements review
- Test system and architecture design
- Instrumentation selection
- Test development and implementation
- Data capture, reporting and documentation
- Training, support and change control
Requirements
- Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in a relevant RF / test engineering environment
- Strong hands‑on experience with RF and electronic test equipment at microwave frequencies and above
- Proven experience developing automated test systems using LabVIEW and TestStand
- Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Self‑motivated and adaptable, able to work across engineering and production teams
- Experience in a volume electronics manufacturing environment is beneficial
- Experience with serial communication protocols (e.g. I2C, SPI) is beneficial
