About the Role
JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and Compliance Company looking for experienced PAT Engineers to join our team in Rock. The role is self‑employed with flexible hours, allowing part‑time or full‑time work.
Responsibilities
A typical day of a PAT engineer involves:
- Traveling between sites (hospitals, retail outlets, etc.) to conduct portable appliance testing.
- Using testing instruments to check safety of electrical items such as microwaves, kettles, computers, and other appliances.
- Informing users of results and explaining any safety concerns.
- Recording findings in paper or electronic test reports and providing employers with copies.
- Completing additional paperwork such as completion certificates and checklists.
- Maintaining organisation and ensuring all tests are completed accurately and efficiently.
Requirements
- City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
- Self‑employed status, with own insurance and calibrated testing equipment.
- Reliability, honesty and a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
- Ability to travel on a reasonable commuting distance to Rock; national coverage acceptable.
Benefits
Potential earnings on a pro‑rata basis depending on rate per appliance, number of tests and job dynamics. Projects vary from one‑day assignments to long‑term contracts.
All engineers receive a handbook, service contract, branded clothing, labels and technical support.
