Principal Linux/Android Platform Developer (Embedded Software Developer)

A global leader in advanced communications technology is looking for a Principal Linux/Android Platform Developer to take a key role in shaping next-generation embedded systems used in mission-critical environments.

This isn’t an app role—this is deep platform engineering. You’ll be working across the Android stack and Linux kernel to optimise performance, reduce latency, and influence system architecture at a fundamental level.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working across AOSP and Linux kernel source trees
• Prototyping and validating new architectural approaches
• Driving integration, debugging, and system-level optimisation
• Contributing to technical strategy and mentoring within the team

What we’re looking for:

• Deep expertise in Linux/Android embedded systems (ideally battery-powered devices)
• Confidence working with large codebases and Git workflows
• Advanced C++ in real-time, multi-threaded environments
• Hands-on experience with profiling, debugging, and performance tools
