About the Role:
The Lead HSE Advisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards in the execution of our turnkey HV projects. The will play a crucial role in promoting a safe and environmentally conscious work culture within the company. The Lead HSE Advisor will cover a range of Data Centre, Renewable and Utilities projects across Scotland and the North of England.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive safety and health advisory and guidance services to Project Managers and their teams to establish and maintain best practice safe working environments
- Support H&MV’s pre‑qualification process across health, safety, environment, and quality aspects of bids
- Monitor project site compliance and procedures in line with H&MV’s policies and objectives
- Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and POWRA
- Conduct HSEQ audits and inspections as directed by the H&MV HSEQ Regional Manager.
- Serve as an expert resource for investigations into incidents, near misses, illnesses, and injuries to identify root causes and make recommendations for changes and improvements to prevent recurrence
- Take a broad and long‑term perspective to proactively identify complex challenges, think systemically, and offer solutions that drive implementation
- Collaborate closely with H&MV business leadership and the HSEQ team to define appropriate safety initiatives and plans
- Support the development of subcontractors’ and suppliers’ approach to HSEQ performance and compliance
Key Requirements:
- Ideally, a minimum of five years of HSEQ experience in live and operational construction site environments
- Proficient understanding of HSEQ processes, practices, and systems, with the ability to drive continuous improvement
- Recognised Safety qualification (NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent)
- Well established Civil and Principal Contractor experience
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills with the ability to build relationships up to Board Level
- High level of IT literacy
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development, with a growth mindset
