A large-scale campus-based education organisation in London is seeking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager to join its Estates team. This is an excellent career development opportunity for an early‑career construction or property professional looking to build experience within a complex, multi‑site estate.
The organisation operates across multiple campuses in London and is undertaking a significant period of estate investment and transformation. A long‑term estates strategy is in place, encompassing new campus developments, major refurbishment projects, sustainability initiatives, and ongoing investment in maintenance and compliance.
The capital programme represents over £100m of planned investment, delivering a pipeline of projects aligned to long‑term growth, operational sustainability, and net zero carbon commitments. Alongside this, a substantial annual planned maintenance programme is delivered to protect and enhance the estate.
The Role
Reporting to a capital programme lead, the Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of both capital and maintenance projects across the estate. This will include:
- Supporting the planning, coordination and administration of estates projects
- Assisting with the delivery of refurbishment, fit‑out and maintenance schemes
- Managing smaller‑scale projects under supervision, providing hands‑on delivery experience
- Working collaboratively with consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders
About You
We are seeking a motivated individual who is keen to develop their career in project management. You will have gained formative experience within the construction or property sector, for example in:
- Building surveying
- Quantity surveying
- Design
- Construction project management
You will be familiar with construction project stages and methodologies (such as the RIBA Plan of Work) and have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative environment.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your project management career within a large, values‑driven organisation delivering meaningful transformation across a complex estate.
