Residential Childcare Worker Location: Contract Type: Permanent- Full Time Hours: 37 hours per week Rotational shifts (early/late), covering 7 days per week its a chance to work in a secure, supportive environment where every day brings fresh challenges and real rewards. Role Purpose: Residential Child Care Worker In this role, youll be at the heart of safeguarding and supporting young people within a residential/secure setting. Your work will follow legislative and organisational standards while contributing to a culture of trust, learning, and opportunity. In addition, you may take on specific responsibilities that help the service run smoothly and effectively. Promote the wellbeing, safety, and protection of young people. Contribute to the assessment of needs and risks, developing and implementing care plans. Support young people in building life skills, independence, and positive relationships. Manage and respond to challenging behaviour in a calm and constructive manner. Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards are met at all times. Sound knowledge of the role and responsibilities of a Residential Child Care Worker Experience working in social care (preferably in residential childcare or secure care) Possess a HNC in Social Care and SVQ Level 3 in Care (Children and Young People) Full UK driving licence Previous experience in residential or secure childcare Proven experience in working with children and young people Personal Qualities: Approachable, flexible, and adaptable Able to work independently with minimal supervision Committed to continuous professional development Competitive salary based on qualifications.~ Strathclyde Pension Fund membership.~20 days annual leave plus 12 public holidays (increasing with service).~ Opportunities for professional development and qualifications….
