Financial Controller – Newry area – Up to £70,000

About the company:

HireIQ Finance are delighted to be partnering with a long-standing client in the Newry area as they look to appoint a Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, hands-on finance professional to step into a broad and commercially focused role, overseeing a small finance team while playing a key part in supporting business performance and growth.

About the role:

  • Production of monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis and insight
  • Leading audit processes and acting as key contact for external auditors
  • Ownership of cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
  • Delivery of weekly KPI and balanced scorecard reporting to support decision-making
  • Responsibility for year-end accounts and audit readiness
  • Oversight of stock costing and margin analysis
  • Driving improvements in stock control processes and reporting
  • Management of invoice discounting facilities and related reporting
  • Oversight of credit control to improve cash collection and reduce debtor days
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns and Intrastat reporting
  • Management of bank reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies
  • Liaison with banks and support on bank audits



Your Experience:

  • Qualified CIMA, ACA, ACCA
  • Proven experience operating at a senior level within finance
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and best practices
  • Advantageous to have experience of Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central
  • Excellent administration skills, organised and able to prioritise work load;
