Overview
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust’s Primary Care Network (RWT PCN) consists of eight Good‑rated practices across Wolverhampton. The network adopts a multidisciplinary team approach, working with ANPs, Practice Nurses, First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers, Pharmacists and an admin team to enable more patient‑facing care. The surgeries use EMIS Web and Docman10.
We are offering a salaried GP vacancy under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). The post is suited for a newly qualified GP who has completed their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) within the last two years and does not yet hold a substantive post.
The role provides seven sessions per week on a permanent contract. The postholder will work across the vertical integration practices, with indemnity covered by the Trust under the hospital scheme for GMS work and paid time for study and CPD.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide surgery consultations, home visits where necessary and telephone queries from patients and healthcare professionals.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions on presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other health‑care workers.
- Take part in the on‑call rota, including requests for patients to present at the surgery, telephone consultations, home visits and triage.
- Support patients with medication adherence, give information on prescribed or over‑the‑counter medicines, side‑effects and interactions.
- Assess, identify and refer patients presenting with mental health needs according to national and local guidelines.
- Assess health needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Develop and implement care plans in line with current practice disease‑management protocols.
- Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards, including Quality & Outcomes Framework requirements.
- Collect data for audit purposes.
- Compile and issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
- Respond to incoming electronic and paper correspondence promptly, using the appropriate electronic systems.
- Complete insurance and other reports for patients under care.
- Carry out all normal duties and responsibilities of a GP in primary care and any additional duties reasonably required by the practice.
- Support the development and implementation of new care pathways aligned with ARRS objectives.
