As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading teams that design and deliver the systems, platforms, and services underpinning a sophisticated product suite used at global scale. This role sits at the intersection of product and engineering, requiring a leader who can deeply engage with product strategy, translate it into technical direction, and ensure high-quality execution. You will partner closely with Product leadership to define what gets built, why it matters, and how it delivers value to end users.

A key part of the role is building and leading a high-performing, multi-layered engineering organisation. You will hire, develop, and mentor Engineering Managers and senior technical leaders, creating a culture defined by ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. Success in this role comes from elevating both delivery and engineering quality, while fostering an environment where teams are empowered to solve meaningful product problems.
This position requires a leader who thinks in systems, not silos. You will focus on reducing friction across the engineering ecosystem, improving developer experience, and ensuring that internal platforms and services are widely adopted and deliver measurable impact. A strong grasp of engineering metrics, platform thinking, and product outcomes is essential, as is the ability to balance speed of delivery with long-term technical sustainability.
Our client is specifically seeking someone who has developed their career within globally recognised, top-tier technology organisations, where engineering excellence, scale, and product innovation are deeply embedded. You will bring the standards, pace, and technical judgement shaped in those environments, along with deep technical credibility across Java and .NET ecosystems, and the ability to guide architectural decisions without needing to be hands-on in every detail.
