This role is set up differently.
You’ll be joining a global tax consultancy working with large corporates, multinational groups and high-growth businesses, often as part of broader international engagements. The work is not volume-driven. It’s focused on complex, high-value projects where understanding the client’s technology, commercial drivers and risk profile is just as important as the technical analysis itself.
You’ll lead R&D engagements end-to-end — from initial scoping through to submission and HMRC defence — working directly with engineers, scientists and senior stakeholders throughout. That means full ownership of the process, not just a defined part of it.
The difference is in how the work is delivered. The team is lean, so you’re operating in a more visible, commercially involved role, with greater exposure to clients and decision-making.
There is a fast track to SM — 12‑28 months likely timeline.
This will suit someone coming from a Big 4 or Top 6 environment who is looking to move away from a more segmented model, while still working with large, complex businesses.
