Overview
Senior Business Analyst role at Sagacity. You will gather and understand the business needs of the client for a specific project or change initiative. You will work with the wider project team to ensure deliverables align with the agreed scope and timescales, and consider strategic implications across other Sagacity initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Business Analyst tasks on medium to large complexity assignments, demonstrating understanding of objectives and delivering against them.
- Understand business strategies and goals, articulate problem statements and design solutions that align with business objectives.
- Develop comprehensive business cases to initiate projects, changes or improvements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Document and map current ('As Is') and future ('To Be') operational processes and procedures, including interviewing SMEs, conducting workshops and obtaining process approvals.
- Identify and quantify process improvements (efficiencies, system changes or automation, data enhancements, governance and reporting).
- Understand and map customer journeys, identify pain points, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, document and prioritise Business Requirements with clear acceptance criteria; ensure requirements are analysed with engagement from business teams and alignment with objectives.
- Lead BA activities with clients and third-party supplier BAs and technical teams, ensuring governance is followed and communications of priorities and issues are clear; escalate where BA support is needed.
- Question the why, what, when and so what to add value to deliverables.
- Prepare packs and meeting outputs in a timely manner; facilitate decisions with evidence, justification and analysis.
- Identify roadblocks early and flag them to the Project Manager/Client Lead to unblock.
- Quality-check personal deliverables and those of team members; identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Design potential solutions to complex problems and demonstrate how proposed solutions deliver benefits.
- Apply a detailed understanding of finance, accounting and business principles to surface operational issues and determine how to address them.
- Trace requirements through their lifecycle with a traceability matrix and communicate how and when requirements will be delivered to key stakeholders.
- Document and implement User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies; document and deliver training materials as required.
- Identify and submit client development opportunities to Commercial Product Management, Customer Engagement and Client Services for increased sales opportunities.
Qualifications
- Approximately 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within financial services, telecommunications or utilities.
- Experience with project and analysis techniques and supporting tools for requirement definition and documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, interviewing and presentation skills; able to work with clients and teams}
- Strong ability to collaborate with teams and build client relationships; able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams, Jira, Confluence.
- Knowledge of delivery approaches (Waterfall / Agile / Hybrid) and Business Analysis methodologies (e.g., BPM, MoSCoW, MOST, Six Sigma, Lean, Wireframes, CATWOE, ERs, PESTLE, The 5 Whys).
- Experience mentoring others, involvement in recruitment and potential line management responsibilities.
