Group Financial Accountant

Salary: £48,000 – £50,000

The Role

We are looking for a Group Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Edinburgh. This role offers strong mentorship and genuine progression for someone keen to develop their career in a collaborative and high-performing team.

Responsibilities

As one of our Group Financial Accountants, you will:

  • Assist in and deliver key accounting initiatives, identifying and managing processes to meet objectives efficiently
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports
  • Support design, implementation and monitoring of internal controls
  • Contribute to the external audit process
  • Participate in financial reporting initiatives and projects, including control and contract reviews, ERP upgrade and new accounting standards implementation

About the Team

Work closely with the Finance functions, Head of Financial Reporting and other senior leaders, building a strong understanding of how the team supports decision making across the business and interact with colleagues across all areas of InterGen.

Qualifications

  • Qualified or nearly qualified Chartered Accountant, with experience in the financial reporting cycle, either as an auditor or in a finance team
  • Confidence in solving accounting issues and understanding the importance of control activities
  • Experience in the Energy sector and proficiency in Power BI would be useful but not essential
