The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Account Director to play a leading role in delivering high-quality client work and managing key relationships. You will be offering a mix of financial communications and public affairs advice.
You will take ownership of core accounts, acting as a trusted day-to-day adviser to clients, while contributing to strategic direction and execution across complex mandates.
This role offers early responsibility within a close-knit team, with direct exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to work on high-impact situations across financial, political and regulatory contexts. It is an accelerated route to partnership and equity for the right person.
You will also contribute to the growth of the firm, supporting new business activity and helping to shape Boscobel & Partners’ continued development.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of client accounts, ensuring consistently high standards of delivery, working within a small agile team.
- Reporting to the CEO
- Build and maintain strong, senior client relations, acting as a trusted adviser
- Develop and execute strategic communications and media engagement plans
- Provide insight and counsel across financial, political and regulatory developments, as well as spot media/PR opportunities for clients where appropriate
- Monitor for industry developments and trends across the media
- Secure high-quality media coverage and manage press engagement effectively
- Prepare clients for media interactions, or major meetings, including messaging development and training
- Support new business activity, including pitching and proposal development
- Good networking skills and contacts
Essential skills and experience
- 1-2 years experience within a PR or strategic communications agency or equivalent, eg in-house or working in Parliament or in Westminster
- Ability to manage client relations at a senior level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Deep understanding of the UK media
- Demonstrable ability to secure top-tier media coverage
- Strong interest in current affairs, financial markets and policy developments
- Commercial awareness, respect for the private sector and ability to identify growth opportunities
- Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams under pressure
- Sound judgement and the ability and the personal resilience to operate effectively in sensitive or complex situations
- Good manners and a responsive attitude with clients and colleagues and counterparties
