The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text‑to‑speech products to turn whatever they’re reading – PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites – into audio, so they can read faster, read more, and remember more. Speechify’s reading products include its iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome extension, and web app.

We work as a 100% distributed team, with no office. Our team includes engineers, AI researchers, and other professionals from companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.

Overview

With the growth of our iOS app, ranked #18 in the Productivity category in the App Store and recently named Apple's Design Award for Inclusivity 2025, we need a Senior iOS Engineer to support a growing user base and to help push our products forward.

This role is ideal for someone who thinks strategically, thrives in fast‑paced environments, enjoys making product decisions, and has experience building delightful user experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Lead key engineering and product decisions.
• Ship production code for the Speechify iOS app.
• Work within a dedicated product team.
• Participate in product discussions to shape the roadmap.
• Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture.

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

• Experience building products that scale to a large user base.
• Track record of leading products from inception to traction.
• Customer obsession – delivering the best possible experience to users.
• Product thinking – making thoughtful decisions that guide designers and engineers.
• Speed – quickly generating ideas and deciding what can ship now versus what needs time.
• Focus – knowing when to engage with the team and when to work independently in a high‑growth, remote environment.
• Technical skills in Swift and SwiftUI.

Technical Requirements

• Swift programming language
• SwiftUI experience
• Multithreading programming
• CI/CD infrastructure experience
• Fastlane experience
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles
• Git experience and knowledge of different Git strategies
