APS Desktop Engineer - Telford, Shropshire

Project Overview
The APS Desktop Engineer will provide high‑quality technical support to end users, customers, and projects. This role is central to maintaining a stable and efficient desktop environment while supporting a wide range of technologies, applications, and APS services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver desktop support services across the client’s environment.
- Diagnose, fault‑find, and resolve incidents and service requests within contracted SLAs.
- Support mobile solutions, including laptops, mobile phones, and tablets.
- Install and configure software and hardware.
- Perform PC configuration, including imaging of laptops and MacBooks.
- Assist with IT stores tasks when required.
- Support internal and external events, ensuring technology readiness.
- Create and maintain accurate support documentation.
- Provide on‑site and remote assistance via the Tech Table or Virtual Tech Table after training.

- Operating Systems: Windows 10, Windows 11, macOS
- Office Productivity: Microsoft Office 2016, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive)
- Hardware: Desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, printers
- Infrastructure & Tools: Cisco AnyConnect VPN, SCCM, Active Directory
- Applications: Various standard and non‑standard software products
- Networking: Wi‑Fi access points, basic networking principles
- Meeting Room Technologies: AV equipment and collaboration tech
Technical Skills
Mandatory
- Working knowledge of Windows 10 and/or Windows 11
- Understanding of Microsoft Office products (including Teams and OneDrive)
- Familiarity with Apple devices (MacBooks, iPads, macOS)
- Understanding of desktop, laptop, and printer hardware
Desirable
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
- Knowledge of mobility solutions
- Understanding of Microsoft Power Platform
- Prior experience in hardware/software support
- Active Directory knowledge
- Basic networking concepts
