Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Bristol

Salary: £63,000

Peaple Talent are currently working alongside a world‑class research and development business in Bristol that are expanding and looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the team.

The Role

This is a hands‑on technical role, leading the delivery of IT platforms across both on‑premises and cloud environments. You’ll be involved in building and supporting systems, ensuring they are secure, resilient, and aligned to project goals. The role includes close collaboration with project managers, architects, and security teams, as well as contributing to testing, documentation, and smooth handover into operational support.

The Candidate

You’ll need proven experience in infrastructure engineering with a strong background in Microsoft technologies, cloud (particularly Azure), and virtualisation. A good understanding of IT security, networking, and hybrid environments is key. You’ll be comfortable working with different stakeholders and able to balance technical detail with practical delivery.

Please note you must be willing to undergo high‑level security clearance.

Essential Experience

• Several years in an infrastructure or systems engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Azure).
• Familiarity with virtualisation, networking, and identity management.
• Solid understanding of IT security standards and practices.
• Clear communication skills and ability to work across technical and non‑technical teams.

Desirable Experience

• Industry certifications in Microsoft, cloud, networking, or security.
• Knowledge of automation tools and scripting.
• Awareness of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials Plus.

• Base salary up to £63,000
• Pension contribution up to 12.5%
