The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text-to-speech products to turn whatever they’re reading – PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites – into audio, so they can read faster and remember more.
Overview: With the growth of our iOS app, being the #18 productivity app in the App Store category and recently recognized as Apple’s 2025 Design Award winner for inclusivity, we need a Senior iOS Engineer to support the expanding user base and work on new projects that push the product forward.
What You’ll Do
- Lead key engineering and product decisions.
- Actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app.
- Work within a dedicated product team.
- Participate in product discussions to shape the product roadmap.
- Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture.
An Ideal Candidate Should Have
- Experience building products that scaled to a large user base.
- A track record of working on products from inception to traction, responsible for engineering the product.
- Customer obsession: constantly focused on providing the best possible experience.
- Product thinking: making thoughtful decisions about the evolution of the product and supporting designers and internal teams.
- Speed: work quickly to generate ideas and decide which items ship now and which need time.
- Focus: ability to engage or work independently in a high‑growth, remote environment.
- Technical skills in Swift and SwiftUI.
Technical Requirements
- Swift Programming Language.
- Experience with SwiftUI.
- Experience with multithreading programming.
- Experience working with CI/CD infrastructure.
- Experience with Fastlane.
- Knowledge of SOLID principles and ability to write clean, SOLID code.
- Experience with Git and understanding of different Git strategies.
