Senior Analyst – Grid + Regulation (Fixed Term till June 2027)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial analysis of ScottishPower Renewables' full portfolio across all technologies, both onshore and offshore, spanning projects in development, construction, and operation within the UK and Ireland.
- Manage charging analysis and connection policy support for senior management, preparing and presenting investment committee papers on grid and regulatory initiatives.
- Participate in policy reform activities, shaping the national pricing framework, contributing to code modifications, supporting task forces, and advancing the OpTIC proposal.
- Engage operators across the UK and Ireland on charging matters and service contracts, supporting SPR's growth targets in connections and revenue generation.
- Prepare and present proposals to the Investment Committee covering technical and commercial aspects such as grid charging forecasts, due diligence, and business model reviews.
- Plan and coordinate stakeholder engagement to align with SPR's business goals and development pipeline, mitigating compliance risks and unlocking revenue opportunities.
- Monitor market activity around ancillary services and emerging technologies, assessing feasibility of innovative solutions for SPR sites.
- Manage financial control submissions related to grid charging forecasts and revenues, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
- Design and deliver training packages on industry codes, charging statements, ESO publications, securities, liabilities, and connection processes.
- Lead SPR's lobbying efforts, advancing the internally developed OpTIC charging modification CMP433.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred; other disciplines considered if candidate demonstrates knowledge and experience of the grid connection process.
- Sound knowledge of the grid regulatory framework, particularly the Connection and Use of System Code, GB Grid and European Network Codes, and UK/Ireland regulatory governance.
- Experience supporting collaboration with internal departments such as Project Delivery, Operations, O&M Services, Commercial Development, Global Energy Management, Policy, Risk & Assurance, and Legal.
- Commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional financial and analytical skills with ability to perform complex financial analysis and prepare substantial reports.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Interpersonal, negotiation, and time‑management skills, with ability to work through a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple conflicting timelines and uphold forward planning for own and indirect reports' workloads.
- Capacity to develop relationships, analyse business challenges, and work cross‑functionally within the organisation.
