Job Title: Senior Pricing Manager – Van
Location: Bexhill/Leicester/London – Hybrid
The Role
- You will own our Van/LCV footprint and set the risk appetite.
- Demonstrate loss ratio control by effectively implementing and monitoring underwriting controls.
- This includes new vehicle assessment, acceptance, and developing innovative approaches to vehicle underwriting.
- Measure the performance which contributes to the achievement of overall agreed loss ratio targets.
- Implement & influence underwriting philosophy & strategy through key relationships, building a reputation as an underwriting expert and build confidence across the business.
- Compile UW and price change recommendations supported by sound analysis.
- Partnering with our in-house underwriter, Advantage on the performance of the van account highlighting any areas of risk or commercial opportunity.
- The strategist in van/LCV and emerging trends.
- Developing & delivering new insight, including the integration of new data, new analytical techniques and new ways of underwriting and pricing in the van market.
- Keep up to date with Market and Product developments in this market through research.
What We Are Looking For
- You will have a strong understanding of the motor insurance market, particularly LCV/van.
- Background working in a pricing or commercially focused analytical role.
- SQL and experience working with large or complex datasets.
- R/Python/Matlab or coding statistical methods in other languages.
- Mentoring, training or project-based management of junior colleagues.
- You’re a fast learner to understand our business, its value drivers and the wider industry context.
- You will have a customer focus to both spot profit opportunities and do the right thing.
