Role Overview
Due to significant growth we are looking to hire a Senior Associate or Partner for our Finance Dispute Resolution department. The candidate will be a qualified solicitor with significant PQE, an experienced fee earner who has managed their own caseload of secured lending repossession proceedings and unsecured debt recovery, acting for banks and building society clients, with knowledge of the regulatory issues that both banks and building societies face.
Key Responsibilities
- Progress own caseload of matters, including all aspects of secured and unsecured debt recovery with a focus on complex residential property possession proceedings and knowledge of CPR 55.
- Draft claim forms and all associated documentation, including Applications, witness evidence, Defences, Replies, and case file management.
- Deal with the client, court, opponents & third‑party agents such as counsel clerks, LPC, asset managers and property management companies.
- Draft substantive advice to clients, considering both legal and commercial strategy.
- Draft Relief from Forfeiture applications and associated documentation.
- Record time in the firm’s case management systems.
- Support and train fee earners in the financial dispute resolution department.
- Assist with the supervision and development of paralegals and trainee solicitors.
- Work to client‑agreed or departmental service standards.
- Any other tasks set by the Partner & Head of Finance Dispute Resolution.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Qualified solicitor with significant PQE.
- Experience in financial legal services, specifically property repossession work or asset finance litigation experience.
- Sound knowledge of CPR 55.
- Strong and resilient litigator with excellent time‑management skills.
- Resolution focused and strong client manager.
