Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (EBD / LD)
Location: Hale Barns, Altrincham (Trafford)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 + bonuses (DOE)
Contract: Full‑time, Permanent
We’re supporting a new and ambitious children’s care provider to recruit a Registered Manager, or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step up, for a brand‑new residential home in Hale Barns. This is a brilliant opportunity to play a key role in launching a service from the ground up, with full involvement in shaping the culture, building a team, and delivering high‑quality, child‑centred care within a therapeutic environment.
The home will support up to four young people with emotional and behavioural needs and/or learning disabilities, operating with a PACE / DDP approach at its core.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the setup, registration, and ongoing management of the home, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the home through Ofsted registration and inspection readiness
- Build, develop and manage a high‑performing staff team
- Embed a therapeutic, child‑focused culture across the service
- Ensure safeguarding and compliance standards are consistently met
- Oversee care planning, risk management, and positive outcomes for young people
- Manage budgets, staffing levels, and day‑to‑day operations
- Work collaboratively with external professionals, families, and local authorities
The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications and Experience
- Experience within children’s residential care, ideally in EBD and/or LD services
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding frameworks
- Proven leadership skills or clear readiness to step into a management role
- Confidence in running or supporting the day‑to‑day operations of a home
- A passion for delivering high‑quality, nurturing care and achieving positive outcomes
- Relevant qualifications in residential childcare/management (Level 5 desirable)
