The Charity Fundraising Manager
Will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing fundraising strategies and initiatives to meet the organization’s financial goals. The role involves building and nurturing relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other key stakeholders. The Fundraising Manager will also work to enhance the visibility of the organization’s mission while ensuring that fundraising activities align with its core values and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Fundraising Strategy Development
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including individual giving, major gifts, corporate partnerships, and grants, to meet financial targets.
- Donor Relations and Stewardship
Build and maintain relationships with existing donors and identify potential new funding sources. Ensure timely and personalized communication with donors to acknowledge gifts, provide updates on impact, and cultivate long‑term relationships.
- Campaign Management
Plan, coordinate, and oversee fundraising campaigns, events, and online giving initiatives. This includes major campaigns, peer‑to‑peer fundraising, annual appeals, and digital fundraising efforts.
- Grant Writing and Reporting
Identify and apply for relevant grant opportunities. Prepare compelling grant proposals and reports for foundations, trusts, and government bodies, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Budgeting and Financial Management
Develop and manage fundraising budgets, ensuring all activities are cost‑effective and within financial targets. Monitor and report on the performance of fundraising initiatives.
- Team Collaboration
Work closely with marketing, communications, and program teams to align fundraising efforts with overall organizational goals and messaging.
- Data Management and Analysis
Maintain an up‑to‑date donor database and track fundraising progress. Provide regular reports and analysis to leadership on fundraising performance.
- Event Planning and Execution
Plan and execute donor events, including galas, fundraising dinners, and other cultivation events, ensuring they are engaging and aligned with fundraising goals.
Duties (Extended)
- Promote The Dawah Project and raise awareness of its ongoing campaigns and events.
- Execute day‑to‑day operational aspects of the project(s), including event management and fundraising initiatives.
- Develop new fundraising activities, many of which involve organising events.
- Raise awareness of the charity at local and national levels, e.g., giving talks to groups.
- Fundraise via call centre, broadcast media, and events.
- Deliver and revise project work plans to meet changing needs.
- Motivate supporters to maximize funds raised.
- Inspire new supporters to raise money while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters.
- Identify resources and assign responsibilities to staff and volunteers.
- Recruit, organise, and manage volunteers to carry out various functions.
- Manage and update databases to record donor contact and preference information.
- Write applications and mailshots, using direct mailing to reach potential donors.
- Conduct risk analyses to focus effort on the most successful fundraising activities.
- Ensure project documents are complete and properly stored.
- Assist with developing a wide‑ranging network of stakeholders.
- Work closely with stakeholders and departments to ensure effective implementation of the project(s).
- Collaborate with post‑production departments, social media manager, and graphic designers to meet project’s needs.
- Implement a sustainable fundraising strategy while developing relationships with potential funders.
- Explain the product or service to potential donors.
- Deliver outstanding service by responding to all questions and queries with passion and dedication.
- Answer telephone calls from potential customers responding to advertisements.
- Comply with HR, office policies, legal requirements and ad‑hoc duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements
- At least 3 years of fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector with a proven track record.
- Strong understanding of fundraising principles and techniques, including individual giving, major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and online fundraising.
- Familiarity with fundraising software (e.g., DonorPerfect, Raiser’s Edge) and office software (MS Office, Google Suite). Knowledge of social media and digital fundraising tools is a plus.
- Experience working in the charity sector.

Qualifications
- Degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field preferred but not required.
