This is a senior leadership role with genuine commercial impact, offering broad scope across trade marketing, category management, shopper activation, Revenue Growth Management and e‑commerce. Highly visible within the commercial leadership team, the role provides the opportunity to shape strategy in a complex, fast‑paced FMCG environment while influencing long‑term capability and performance across the business.
This leading FMCG business is seeking a Trade Marketing Director to lead the development and execution of best‑in‑class trade, category and shopper strategies across a diverse retail landscape. Sitting at the heart of the commercial organisation, the role acts as a critical bridge between Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain, translating brand strategy into winning customer and shopper propositions. With accountability across category leadership, shopper activation, revenue growth management and e‑commerce, the role plays a pivotal part in delivering sustainable growth and achieving annual budget targets.
Reporting into the senior commercial leadership team, you will define and lead the end‑to‑end trade marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business and brand objectives. You will develop differentiated, channel‑specific strategies across Grocery, Convenience, Discounters, Wholesale and E‑commerce, while owning the category vision and growth agenda with key customers. This includes leading shopper marketing strategy to drive conversion and ROI across physical and digital touchpoints, and embedding best‑in‑class RGM / NRM through robust pricing, promotion, pack architecture and trade investment optimisation.
In addition, you will lead the e‑commerce and digital shelf strategy, maximising visibility, conversion and omnichannel performance. You will own the integrated commercial planning process across annual and quarterly cycles, forecasting and promotional calendars, while setting clear strategy and execution standards for field sales through third‑party teams. Acting as a trusted cross‑functional partner, you will influence senior stakeholders, champion data‑led decision making, and lead and develop a high‑performing team of circa 20 (with approximately 4 direct reports), playing a key role in shaping future commercial capability.
