Test Engineer

As a Test Engineer (Test Services) at Safran Landing Systems, you will play a key role in the setup, execution, and support of landing gear test activities.

Your focus will be on configuring and maintaining the Electrical control systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition setups required for structural, performance, and environmental testing.

These tests are required for research and development, qualification, production and in‑service support.

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Test team as a Test Engineer at our Gloucester site.

Your Role

As a Test Engineer (Test Services) at Safran Landing Systems, you will play a key role in the setup, execution, and support of landing gear test activities.

Your focus will be on configuring and maintaining the Electrical control systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition setups required for structural, performance, and environmental testing.

These tests are required for research and development, qualification, production and in‑service support.

What will I be doing?

• Specify and configure bespoke control systems using hydraulics, pneumatics, electric drives, PLC and HMI
• Configuration of electro‑hydraulic servo control test systems
• Configuration of instrumentation and data acquisition systems
• Selection, integration and calibration of transducers
• Development of test methodologies to meet customer needs, improve test capability and efficiency
• Technical liaison with customers and suppliers

What You’ll Bring

• Educated to HNC, HND or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar.
• Experience of working hands‑on in a test or manufacturing/production support environment, preferably within the aerospace industry.
• Hands‑on experience with electrical controls, hydraulics, and instrumentation.
• An ability to understand technical drawings and test requirement documentation.
• Work, Risk Assessments, COSHH, Isolation & Lockout procedures, Lifting & Slinging)
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
