About the Role
At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives. Play a key role in delivering highways that support great places to live, work and travel.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in managing highway agreements for development‑led infrastructure within one of England’s most beautiful unitary authorities. You will have real day‑to‑day influence over S38 and S278 schemes, working at the heart of major regeneration projects in our UNESCO World Heritage City, beautiful market towns and villages.
Responsibilities
- Undertake design checks of third‑party submissions.
- Ensure compliance with S38 and S278 schemes.
- Negotiate highway adoption legal agreements.
- Implement quality assurance processes.
- Work collaboratively with others to ensure critical standards are met.
- Provide a strong customer ethos and excellent communication across a broad range of diverse groups.
Qualifications
- Significant technical engineering knowledge and skills.
- Experience with design checks and compliance.
- Experience negotiating highway adoption agreements.
- Track record of implementing successful quality assurance processes.
- Excellent communication and collaborative approach.
- Well‑organised and motivated professional.
