Overview

Jacobs seeks an Associate Director, Structural Design Engineering in Manchester to lead high‑impact projects across sectors and mentor a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of structural design projects from concept to completion.
• Set engineering standards and drive innovative, client‑centric solutions.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performance engineering team.
• Integrate design disciplines and oversee digital delivery practices.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet commercial objectives.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of international codes, especially U.S. and global standards.
• Champion sustainability, safety and compliance across all designs.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (IStructE, ICE, or equivalent)
• Proven expertise in structural design from concept to completion
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Ability to engage clients and present innovative solutions
• Experience with structural analysis software (ETABS) and digital delivery
• Knowledge of multi‑disciplinary design processes and sustainable design principles
• Commercial acumen to drive project success
