Team Overview

The Risk Assurance and Advisory team plays a vital role in assisting our clients to achieve their strategic objectives. They provide assurance and consulting services to improve governance, risk management, and control processes, adding value and ensuring operations are effective, efficient, and compliant. The team undertakes systematic reviews of internal systems, processes, and controls to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements for better decision‑making and overall performance.

You will work primarily with not‑for‑profit public sector businesses and organisations to evaluate how well risks are managed, how the business is running, and whether current internal processes are sufficient or could be improved. You will receive full support to study towards a recognised professional qualification, with the option to pursue either the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Collaborative and eager to take on new challenges
  • Minimum of a 2:2 undergraduate degree in any discipline
  • Minimum of 2 A levels (A‑C) and one other A level or equivalent
  • 5 GCSEs grades A*-C or 9-4 (including Maths and English Language or equivalent)
  • Ability to absorb new information and adapt quickly
  • Comfortable working with numbers and demonstrating strong attention to detail
  • Clear and thoughtful written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to explain financial information in an accessible and supportive manner
