Position Overview
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to join our IT team based at Barbour House, South Shields. This role will lead in the support and development of BI solutions within the Barbour Business. The main focus will be to scope, design and build BI solutions including Business Reporting, Systems and Data Integration, data queries and data management. The role is based at Head Office in South Shields, and the expectation is 4 days onsite and 1 day of home-working.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop BI and Reporting solutions utilising Microsoft technologies SSIS, SSRS, PowerBI as well as Qliksense (and Qlikview) or similar tool in-line with business priorities.
- Manage and resolve problems relating to Business Reporting.
- Provide analysis, define and design systems solutions to business requirements.
- Support the business with data queries, extracts and analysis.
- Maintain strong system and knowledge base documentation.
- Ensure requirements are clearly defined and approved with business users.
Skills and Experience
- MS SQL and ETL skills.
- Business Analysis skills.
- Good Business user relationship management.
- Enthusiastic, self‑led, and proactive attitude.
- Flexible/eager to learn and share knowledge with the wider IT team.
- Customer service focussed with excellent communication skills.
- Commercially aware - must understand impact on business processes and able to prioritise accordingly.
- Understanding and experience of operational business model.
