Our Client are an established high end fit out and refurbishment contractor, they have just been given the green light on a £15million high end retail and commercial fit out project in the West End and are now looking to hire a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the project from the early procurement stages through to final accounts.


Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate they have led projects to a similar value and standard and be happy working site / office based 5 days a week.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of tender documentation and develop comprehensive scopes of work for projects.
  • Oversee the procurement process for all subcontractor trade packages.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, including processing payments, assessing variations, and agreeing final accounts.
  • Monitor and evaluate design and drawing revisions, ensuring cost implications are understood and controlled.
  • Review and authorise site instructions and contract change forms where required.
  • Produce regular cost reports, highlighting budget movements and presenting updates to senior leadership on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensure all commercial activities align with internal policies and procedures.
  • Participate in design and project meetings, contributing commercial insight.
  • Conduct detailed package reviews and identify value engineering opportunities to optimise cost and design efficiency.
  • Prepare and manage all contractual documentation with a high level of accuracy.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining and controlling project budgets.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider project team to support both operational and financial performance.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to junior commercial team members where applicable.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to liaise across technical, sales, construction, procurement, and finance teams.
  • Solid commercial awareness and financial understanding.
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Sound knowledge of construction processes and practices.
