Who we are

Rowan Veterinary Centre is an independently owned, nine-vet small animal practice with a clear sense of who we are and what we stand for. Our directors, Ruth Mackay and Drew Milner-Dunn, aren’t hidden away in an office — they work in and on the business alongside the team, every week.

The clinical environment

We’ve built something we’re genuinely proud of — a purposefully designed space that makes the clinical work better.

• Purpose-built hospital near Warton with surrounding green space, plus a renovated branch in Blackpool.
• Separate dog and cat clinical areas; cat-friendly accredited.
• Dedicated operating theatre, imaging suite and dental theatre with X-ray.
• Visiting orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon and specialist cardiologists.
• Certificate holders (and those working towards certificates) in dentistry, surgery, ophthalmology, pain management, behaviour and medicine - all supported by Rowan.
• Inpatient care on site with case continuity we're exceptionally proud of.

How we work day to day

• 20-minute consults as standard.
• A well-structured day with protected and respected case management time.
• Morning, midday and evening rounds - collaboration is how we think, not an afterthought.
