Talent Pool: Control Systems Engineering
Brackley, UK
Before an F1 car completes a single real-world lap, it has already endured thousands of virtual ones. Before a driver activates the ignition, they’ve spent hours inside a simulator where every facet of vehicle behaviour is analysed, validated, and improved. Behind this relentless optimisation sits advanced technology conceived, developed, and refined by exceptional engineers at every level.
If you’re driven by technical challenge and excited by the idea of contributing to the software, tools, and real‑time systems that support our testing and simulation environments, we invite you to join our Control Systems Engineering Talent Pool.
We welcome interest from Engineers, Senior Engineers, and Lead Engineers looking to be part of future opportunities.
What Future Opportunities Might Involve
By registering your interest, you’ll be considered for roles across multiple seniority levels. Typical responsibilities may include:
Developing and maintaining real‑time control system software for hardware‑in‑the‑loop rigs, powertrain testbeds, and driver‑in‑the‑loop simulators
Improving and automating build, validation, and deployment processes to increase reliability and efficiency
Creating and refining toolsets, scripts, and workflows to streamline data analysis and testing
Working closely with operational teams to diagnose issues, support test sessions, and ensure smooth integration of new features
Contributing to innovation in modelling, simulation, and control system technologies
At senior and lead levels: influencing architecture decisions, mentoring team members, driving technical strategy, and leading complex development workstreams
What We Typically Look For
Successful candidates for these roles often bring:
For Engineers:
Experience in control systems, automotive, simulation, or embedded software
Strong grounding in control theory, vehicle dynamics, or mechanical systems
Practical experience with MATLAB/Simulink and model‑based design
Familiarity with HIL systems or real-time control platforms (e.g., dSPACE SCALEXIO, Speedgoat)
Interest in powertrain, testbed environments, or high‑performance engineering
For Senior Engineers:
Deeper technical ownership of systems or subsystems
Ability to design robust architectures and improve development workflows
Strong problem-solving skills and experience resolving complex test or software issues
Broader experience with communication protocols (e.g., CAN) and simulation tools
For Lead Engineers:
Proven leadership in delivering technical projects end-to-end
Experience shaping architecture, processes, and development standards
Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the long-term technical roadmap
Ability to influence stakeholders and guide innovation in real-time systems
Across all levels, we value individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy using software, data, and modelling to solve engineering challenges.
