Thepostholderisresponsibleforcollectingandreviewingexternalwallsystems(EWS)data,specificallyfocussingonthosewithcombustiblecladding.Theaimistoensurethatrisksofunsafecladdingandanyotheridentifiedfiresafetydeficienciesareevaluatedandaddressedappropriately.
KeyResponsibilities: InterimBuildingSafetyManager
- UndertakeinitialdesktopreviewofprivatelyownedhighandmediumriseresidentialbuildingswithintheBorough.
- Developarisk-basedinspectionprogrammeofmediumandhigh-riseresidentialbuildings,collectdataonexternalwallsystems(EWS)andcontactdetailsofthebuildingproprietors.
- ReviewEWSdata,FRAEWreports,andotherassociateddocuments,categorisebuildingsbasedonrisklevelsandreferfurtheractiononbuildingswithsuspectedunsafecladding,includinganyotheridentifiedfiresafetydeficiencies,totheinternalenforcementteamspecifyingtheirriskpriorityrating.
- Engagewithproprietorsofbuildingswithsuspectedunsafecladdingtoobtainadditionalinformationoncladdingmaterials,Interimfiresafetymeasures,remediationfundingandremediationworkstimelines.
- ReviewBuildingSafetyFundandCladdingSafetySchemedataonremediationfundingandidentifyanymissingbuildings.
- DevelopeffectiveworkingrelationshipswiththelocalFireandRescueService,MHCLGandotherstakeholderstoobtainandsharedataonbuildingswithunsafecladding.
- Attendtoenquiriesfrombuildingproprietors,localcouncillorsandotherstakeholdersinatimelyandprofessionalmanner.
- Workcollaborativelywiththeinternalenforcementteamtosupportinvestigations,inspections,andenforcementactionswherenecessary.
- Contributetocontinuousimprovementinitiatives,includingteamprocesses,datamaintenance,KPIreporting,teammeetingsandotheroperationalactivities.
- AttendtoanyotherdutiesasrequiredbytheSeniorManagement,inlinewiththeobjectivesoftheBuildingSafetyProgramme.
Workingpattern: InterimBuildingSafetyManager
Theworkpatterninvolvesspendingthreedaysouton-siteundertakingbuildinginspectionsandtwodaysintheofficeforreportingandadministrativetasks.
Qualifications/experienceInterimBuildingSafetyManager
- Abachelor'sdegreeorequivalentcertificateinBuildingSurveyingorarelatedfieldisrequired.
- 5yearsexperienceinBuildingSafety/FireSafety/BuildingSurveying
- ExperienceofundertakingHHSRSSurveys.
- KnowledgeofkeylegislationandguidanceincludingtheBuildingRegulations2010,HousingAct2004,BuildingSafetyAct2022,theRegulatoryReform(FireSafety)Order2005,FireSafetyAct2021,andtheFireSafety(England)Regulations2022.
- Familiaritywithfiresafetydesignprinciplesforhigh-riseresidentialbuildingsandexternalwallsystems.
- Excellentwrittenandoralcommunicationskills.
