Structural Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer to lead and deliver a range of building structures projects within a consultancy environment. This role combines hands-on design responsibility with full project management ownership, client engagement, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the structural design of projects across a range of building types and materials
*Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, specifications, and structural models
*Check designs and drawings for accuracy, compliance, and quality, recommending improvements where required
*Manage and coordinate project resources in collaboration with senior engineering leadership
*Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other consultants
*Attend and contribute to project and design team meetings
*Deliver projects in line with agreed timescales, budgets, and scope
*Identify project risks and challenges, implementing mitigation measures and escalating issues where necessary
*Prepare monthly project workload updates, fee forecasts, and financial reports
*Monitor and control project costs and support preparation of project invoicing
*Conduct site inspections and liaise with relevant stakeholders
*Ensure compliance with internal quality systems, health & safety requirements, and statutory regulations
*Mentor and support junior engineers, graduates, and technicians
*Contribute to business development and client relationship growth
*Maintain accurate project documentation in line with management systems
Requirements
*Chartered Structural Engineer
*BEng in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
*Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in a similar consultancy environment
*Proven experience designing with all common building materials
*Strong knowledge of current design codes and regulations
*Experience carrying out structural assessments of existing buildings
*Working knowledge of AutoCAD
*Full driving licence or suitable access to transport to meet role requirements
