Senior Gastroenterology Dietitian | Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust

Frimley Health Foundation Trust has an exciting vacancy for a fixed term Band 6 Senior Gastroenterology Dietitian to join our Gastroenterology Dietetic team at Wexham Park Hospital. This role is currently advertised as 3 days a week, and there may be the potential to increase these hours.

This Dietitian will be responsible for the specialist assessment, treatment and management of gastroenterology and complex medical patients, and is a great opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge and experience within these clinical areas.

The successful applicant will work closely with the MDT and colleagues to contribute towards best care approach in a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders; IBD, eating disorders, functional gut disorders, liver disease, IBS and pancreatic insufficiency. This role will primarily be in-patient focused with some outpatient clinic based work and will have an opportunity to join the gastroenterology team in contributing to research.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist dietetic input to adult gastroenterology in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Autonomously run an outpatient clinic and provide tailored dietary education and support to patients and carers
• Independently assess, plan and manage dietetics interventions for a clinical caseload
• Use behavioural change techniques and motivational interviewing to support patient self‑management
• Work as an integral member of the multi‑disciplinary team and represent the dietetics department in meetings and clinical governance
• Support service development and delivery of education sessions
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives. The gastroenterology team have been working on quality improvement projects within IBD, eating disorders, and hepatology and this work will continue to be supported by this role.
• Provide supervision and support to junior staff, students, or assistants as appropriate
