Overview

An exciting opportunity for a full-time consultant Interventional Radiologist to join the IR department at Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust, covering Aintree Hospital and Royal Liverpool Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general and emergency interventional procedures across a wide spectrum including peripheral arterial, EVAR (jointly with vascular surgery), embolization (PAE/UFE), hepatobiliary interventions, dialysis access, TACE, ablation (MWA, IRE, cryoablation), SIRT and other typical IR procedures.
  • Work within a well‑established team of 12 consultant interventional radiologists.
  • Serve as IR consultant of the day, perform vetting, ultrasonography interventions, and vascular/IO reporting.
  • Participate in allocated sessions in the angio suite and join an IR on‑call rota (1:8 at each base site).
  • Contribute to management, training, and research activities during the allocation of 1.5 SPAs (one SPA may be taken off‑site).
  • Provide IR opinion/cover for percutaneous drainages/pseudoaneurysm management at the Wednesday Pancreatic MDTM.

Qualifications

  • Completed formal training in interventional radiology.
  • Ability to offer a wide range of general and emergency interventional procedures.
