Role Overview

Specialty Training Programme Director for Intensive Care Medicine within the South West School of Anaesthesia and ICM. Reports to the Head of School and leads delivery of educational functions aligned to NHS England mandate and long‑term workforce plan.

The position is a senior educator role, part‑time secondment, lasting until 31 March 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of educational functions and improvement of learner supervision, assessment and experience.
  • Engage faculty and ensure effective educational outcomes now and in the future.

Qualifications

  • Experienced clinician with a thorough understanding of education and training across the region.
  • Strong leadership, communication and teamwork skills.

Employment Details

  • Secondment to NHS England from an existing NHS Trust within the South West footprint.
  • Inter Authority Transfer via ESR will be initiated for current NHS staff; opt‑out option available.
  • Office base expectation: at least 40% of time working at NHS England offices.
