Training Programme Director IMT - L&SC | NHS England

The Training Programme Director in IMT (Lancashire & South Cumbria) will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Medicine.

The postholder will be responsible for Stage 1 IMT trainees from Year 1 to Year 3 and for contributing to the Quality Assurance of medical training for all NHSE ACCS trainees rotating through medical posts.

The postholder will lead on the development of the School’s Recruitment and Retention Strategy, support the School Operational Programme and be a member of the School Board.

The role will also focus on whole workforce transformation and developing multi‑professional links.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the Specialty’s Regional Training Programme
• Manage specialty‑specific matters and trainee/trainer concerns
• Recruitment to training posts and programmes
• Postgraduate programme management, including assessments, progression, rotations, support and remediation, OOP management, trainee management careers support, less‑than‑full‑time training, inter‑deanery transfer, academic training and other related work‑streams

Qualifications

• Experienced NHS Consultant with a thorough understanding of IMT training across the region
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a multi‑professional team
