Overview
A leading pan-European private credit platform is seeking a high-calibre Junior Associate to join its London investment team. The firm specialises in providing tailored financing solutions to high-quality, sponsor-backed mid-market companies across Europe. Key Responsibilities
- Deal Evaluation & Execution
- Support the assessment of new investment opportunities, including reviewing CIMs, building screening models, and preparing internal investment materials.
- Participate in due diligence across financial, commercial, legal, and operational workstreams.
- Assist in drafting IC papers, financial analyses, and credit memos.
- Financial Modelling & Analytics
- Develop and maintain detailed leveraged buyout, cash flow, and downside case models.
- Perform sensitivity analyses and covenant modelling for proposed transactions.
- Market & Sector Research
- Conduct thematic and company-specific research to support origination and portfolio decisions.
- Track market activity across private credit, leveraged finance, and European mid-market trends.
- Portfolio Management
- Support ongoing monitoring of existing portfolio companies, including quarterly reporting, performance benchmarking, covenant compliance, and risk assessment.
- Prepare periodic internal updates and assist with amendment/waiver processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Interact with advisors, management teams, banks, and private equity sponsors.
- Coordinate internal information flows to ensure timely decision-making.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: 1-3 years in leveraged finance, private credit, direct lending, banking (coverage or credit), financial due diligence, or a top-tier advisory environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong financial modelling and credit analysis capabilities.
- Solid understanding of debt structures, leveraged finance mechanics, and private markets.
- Personal Attributes:
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious.
- Strong communicator with the ability to work in a lean, entrepreneurial team.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines.
- Education: Degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field; CFA progress is a plus.
