Senior Project Manager – North Central London Cancer Alliance
North Central London Cancer Alliance (NCLCA) is looking for a Senior Project Manager to cover maternity leave as part of a job share. Reporting into the Senior Programme Lead, the postholder will ensure robust implementation of current and upcoming projects.
Required experience: leading delivery of projects, ensuring milestones and final completions within timescales; strong organisational, proactive, motivated; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Suitable for individuals with a background in project management, public health or cancer services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project plans and monitor their delivery.
- Forge and maintain effective working relationships across NHS and local authorities (Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield, Haringey).
- Review and analyse data and present in an accessible format to multi‑stakeholder groups.
- Represent the Alliance, communicate our work and write reports of a high standard.
- Be responsible for devolved budgets.
- Support the NCLCA leadership team in identifying projects to deliver on strategic priorities.
- Support programme management team in development and delivery of project plans; allocate tasks; manage risks, issues and dependencies.
- Ensure a high standard of work, deliver projects on time, to quality standards and cost‑effective manner.
- Plan and organise meetings and events, including governance groups; circulate agendas, minutes and papers.
- Contribute to development of improved patient pathways in collaboration with clinical, operational and population health teams.
- Build highly effective relationships with stakeholders across the sector; promote collaborative working.
- Collate, analyse and present complex or sensitive information, including statistical data and financial information.
- Ensure effective communications are delivered on projects (with communications lead).
- Develop, monitor and report on project budgets, managing variance and uplifts.
- Record project information in management software, run reports.
- Adhere to Trust policies, Health and Safety at Work Act and Data Protection Act.
Qualifications
- Strong project management background and experience.
- Knowledge of public health or cancer services preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across NHS and local authorities.
Employment Details
Job share role – suitable for successful candidate to work Tuesday to Friday. Hybrid working – office at least once a week (usually Thursday). Flexible working requests will be considered.
