Senior Process Engineer

The Opportunity

Due to growth and project requirements, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Process Engineer to join one of our key clients on a permanent basis. As Senior Process Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting critical water infrastructure projects. It is important to have experience in the water/wastewater or similar industries.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Producing robust process design outputs that meet safety, quality and regulatory requirements across water and wastewater schemes
• Developing efficient process solutions through interpretation of scope, site data and stakeholder input, and clearly presenting these to clients and project teams
• Leading and supporting graduate and junior engineers to ensure high‑quality technical delivery
• Completing process calculations, mass balances, hydraulic sizing, flow diagrams, control philosophies and commissioning approaches
• Preparing technical reports, specifications, design risk assessments and contributing to HAZOP and other formal design reviews

Qualifications & Experience

• Extensive process design experience within the regulated water industry, with a proven focus on wastewater treatment
• Strong technical knowledge of wastewater unit processes and treatment plant design
• Engineering qualification – Beng/MEng in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Confidence working to recognised engineering standards, company procedures and formal design processes
• Sound IT capability and the ability to manage design changes, documentation and programme estimates

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Chartered or working towards Chartered status with a recognised engineering institution
• Previous involvement in HAZOP studies, ideally chairing or acting as lead process engineer
