An established and fast‑growing accountancy firm is seeking an experienced Client Manager to join its Cambridge office. This is a client‑facing role suited to a technically strong accountant who enjoys managing a diverse portfolio, building long‑term relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members. The firm operates a collaborative, people‑first culture with a strong emphasis on delivering high‑quality, forward‑thinking advice to SMEs.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of corporate and private clients across a range of sectors.
- Act as the main point of contact, providing proactive and high‑quality advice.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, directors, and internal teams.
- Review statutory accounts and corporation tax computations, ensuring UK GAAP compliance.
- Review self‑assessment tax returns and liaise with tax specialists where needed.
- Oversee workflow and deadlines to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Coach, mentor, and review the work of junior and semi‑senior staff.
- Identify opportunities to add value and cross‑sell additional services.
Personal Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Proven experience managing a client portfolio within practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts and UK compliance.
- Confident communicator with a client‑first approach.
- Experience reviewing work and developing junior staff.
- Highly organised with strong commercial awareness.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
