Background

Department: VSM, Worthing Hospital. This role is part of the launch of the Target Operating Model under the Chief Nurse, requiring a clinically qualified governance leader. Responsibilities include coordination and oversight of integrated governance functions such as patient safety, complaints, PALS, legal services, CQC compliance, clinical audit, mortality reviews, NICE and clinical standards.

Main duties of the job

The Director of Integrated Quality Governance will provide specialist and professional advice to the Chief Nursing on all matters relating to Integrated Clinical Governance, meeting legal and statutory duties set by the Department of Health and delegated authorities such as NHS England & Improvement and the Care Quality Commission. The role also collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Company Secretary and corporate risk and governance team to align clinical governance with corporate governance, ensuring compliance and risk assurance.
