Mitie is seeking passionate security enthusiasts to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This opportunity allows you to be part of a professional team that makes a difference in communities across the United Kingdom.
Key details:
- Flexibility to travel to various DWP sites within the region: Colchester, Clacton, Harwich, Witham, Braintree, Chelmsford.
- Full UK driving licence required.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
- Patrol premises, identify potential security threats.
- Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring proper identification and verification.
- Respond to emergencies or suspicious situations.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Provide high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in security‑related matters.
- Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports.
- Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
Security and Health & Safety
- Report any health & safety hazards or potential hazards on site immediately.
- Stay alert for threats or changes; take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by involving others if a situation appears threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers.
- Complete accurate notebook entry promptly after any incident.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
Requirements
- Previous security experience.
- DS Licence required.
- Full UK driving licence required.
