The Role
- Lead work‑winning activity across Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare and Heritage sectors, including major project pursuits.
- Manage the complete work‑winning lifecycle, including business development, early engagement, capture planning, win‑strategy development, formal procurement, tender submissions and post‑tender requirements.
- Build and develop strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply‑chain partners.
- Create coordinated bid programmes, identifying key tasks and allocating resources appropriately.
- Develop bid budgets and maintain financial oversight throughout the bid process.
- Ensure bid governance requirements are followed at corporate and functional levels.
- Produce qualitative responses as required and ensure alignment with the overall win strategy.
- Lead qualitative review processes and contribute actively to review stages.
- Maintain accurate bid data within CRM systems.
- Support functional improvements, including developing evidence libraries and enhancing company‑wide bidding processes.
- Participate in sales and operational meetings to ensure coordination, structured communication and clear actions.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Assist with operational planning and scheduling to help deliver efficient work‑winning activity.
- Promote continuous improvement across the work‑winning function to enhance service quality and effectiveness.
Your Profile
- Experienced Work Winning / Bid Manager, ideally with strong private‑sector bidding experience.
- Collaborative and adaptable, able to respond quickly to changing requirements.
- Skilled in managing work‑winning governance and decision‑making processes.
- Able to lead multi‑disciplinary bid teams to deliver high‑quality work on time.
- Ideally degree‑qualified in a built‑environment discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and guide diverse teams.
- Effective people‑management, stakeholder‑management and negotiation skills.
- Flexible working across sectors, geographical areas and project types.
- Highly developed organisational, planning, time‑management and communication skills.
