Job Title: Skills & Engagement Service Coach
Overview
Provide personalised advice, guidance, and coaching to support individuals—particularly job seekers and economically inactive residents—in improving their confidence, wellbeing, and progression into employment, education, or training. Manage a caseload of clients and work collaboratively with local partners to deliver impactful support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one coaching sessions, creating tailored action plans to help clients overcome barriers and achieve personal and employment goals
- Support clients with job search skills, including CV writing, applications, and interview preparation
- Plan and deliver workshops and group sessions focused on employability, confidence, and personal development
- Conduct skills assessments and regularly monitor and review client progress
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, training providers, and local services to create opportunities for clients
- Carry out outreach activities, including attending family hubs, community events, and engaging new participants
- Manage a caseload, maintaining accurate records and reporting on outcomes and progress
- Promote services through events, partnerships, and community engagement
- Follow up with clients post‑engagement to track longer‑term outcomes
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting individuals in employment, education, or community settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage diverse groups
- Experience delivering coaching or workshops
- Good organisational and administrative skills, including managing multiple clients and maintaining records
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
Additional Requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Willingness to obtain an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) qualification
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and professional development
- Flexibility to travel locally and attend occasional events
