About this opportunity:
Gleeds provides project controls services across infrastructure sectors such as rail, highways, utilities, aviation and ports, supporting programme management, cost control and project delivery with a focus on schedule and resource planning.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Undertake rolling wave planning and resource loading for assigned project scopes.
- Utilise team inputs to create and track plans and schedules, performing risk exploration.
- Conduct detailed schedule exploration of network logic and the critical path.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional programme teams to resolve critical path and network conflicts.
- Execute "what-if" scenarios for programme management teams.
- Carry out schedule variance analysis by comparing baseline to current schedule.
- Support earned value analysis for assigned programmes or projects.
- Ensure management understands network logic, Gantt charts, milestone lists and resource information.
- Develop and maintain scheduling procedures for assigned programmes.
- Apply tools such as Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances, facilitating focus on critical areas.
- Secure integration of major projects and programme schedules across functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing and quality.
Experience:
- Previous experience on major projects, providing support and guidance across multiple live projects and contributing to tender programmes.
- Experience in project controls with a focus on planning, ideally within a consultancy.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, with experience of Asta Powerproject and MSP being beneficial.
- Strong Excel skills to produce dashboards and data visualisations for P6 programmes.
Qualifications:
- HNC, HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Law or similar field, or alternative background such as engineering.
- Professional qualifications and/or membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute desirable and supported if not yet attained.
