Senior DevOps Engineer (United Kingdom) responsible for building and optimizing scalable CI/CD ecosystems that support complex SAP and enterprise environments across on‑prem and cloud infrastructures. You will design automated pipelines, improve deployment reliability, and drive DevSecOps best practices across engineering teams. Accountabilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines in GitLab with a strong focus on SAP-based environments
- Develop and standardize reusable pipeline templates, modules, and automation components
- Automate deployment, release, and system remediation processes to improve efficiency and reliability
- Implement DevSecOps practices by integrating security, compliance, and quality controls into CI/CD workflows
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams across VMware, GCP, and Kubernetes environments
- Support the definition and adoption of DevOps standards, frameworks, and best practices across the organization
- Contribute to system hardening, operational improvements, and platform stability initiatives
- Provide technical guidance and share knowledge within the DevOps and engineering teams
Requirements
- Strong hands‑on experience with GitLab CI/CD, including pipeline design, optimization, and automation
- Proven experience working with SAP environments (on‑premise and/or cloud‑based)
- Experience building reusable CI/CD templates, shared libraries, or pipeline frameworks
- Solid understanding of VMware‑based infrastructure in on‑prem environments
- Experience with Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps principles and automation practices
- Ability to work effectively across cross‑functional technical teams
- Strong documentation skills and ability to define clear technical standards
- Hands‑on mindset with strong problem‑solving and debugging abilities
